30 May 2008 - NEW BOTTLES FOR BADGER!

Following extensive consumer research, Hall & Woodhouse has launched a new distinctive bottle for its range of Badger award winning, traditional bottled ales. With a new shape, new label, lighter-weight glass and embossing, the new bottle has improved the style and shelf presence of Hall & Woodhouse’s premium bottled ales to meet the demand of loyal and new consumers.

The new bottle design combines heritage with elegance and, in addition uses over 27% less glass resulting in a significant environmental benefit; 1,500 tonnes of glass packaging waste per year are saved, the equivalent of 1,100 tonnes CO2.

“We have a huge number of long term consumers who are loyal to our Badger ales and their input has been extremely helpful in deciding this new bottle design. Our new bottle is taller and slimmer so it looks contemporary and far more elegant on the table. We have included some distinct features including the words Dorset Ales and Real Character as embossed messages as this is the very essence of what we are about,” said Rick Payne, Brands Marketing Manager of Hall & Woodhouse.

Hall & Woodhouse, based in Blandford, Dorset is the largest regional family brewer of premium ales in the UK. Under its well respected brand name of Badger, it produces some of the Country’s most distinctive bottled ales and has a record five Tesco Drinks Awards under its belt. Badger bottled ales have grown 11 fold in the last decade and boast just over 10% market share of bottled ale in Multiple Grocers ; more than double the market share in 2000.
