16 August 2007 - RECORD BEER SALES FOR HALL & WOODHOUSE AT THE GREAT BRITISH BEER FESTIVAL
Hall & Woodhouse served a record 10,000 pints at last week's Great British Beer Festival (GBBF) in London.
This year was the 30th anniversary of the GBBF, which concluded at London's Earls Court on Saturday. More than 70,000 beer drinkers from across the UK are believed to have attended the festival – a 6% increase from last year.
This year’s GBBF offered visitors more than 700 drinks to sample, including 450 different types of real ale from around the UK and an extensive selection of foreign beers and ciders.
Bringing a flavour of rural Dorset to Earls Court, the Badger stand featured a typical Dorset scene, complete with a thatched cottage pub; dry stone walled seating area; a replica of the Cerne Abbas Giant; a traditional red telephone box (with a hotline to Mrs Badger); and Buttercup the cow.
Over the five days of the festival, the packed Badger Bar served approximately 10,000 pints of beer. In addition to offering three of Hall & Woodhouse’s finest ales, the company also trialled a brand new beer named Pickled Partridge – a full-flavoured winter ale, with roasted malt character and powerful hop aromas.
As a result of the trial, the Hall & Woodhouse team received more than 2000 feedback forms signing up to receive the Badger newsletter – providing plenty of invaluable customer feedback for the brewing team.
