21 September 2009 - A FANTASTIC FOUR FOR FURSTY FERRET
“We’ve started producing Fursty Ferret as a four pack because quite simply consumer trends have highlighted the demand and after all a four-pack is a far more convenient way for the consumer to buy one of our most popular beers” said Rick Payne, Brands Marketing Manager at Hall & Woodhouse, “also, buying Fursty Ferret as a four-pack makes it much better value for our loyal Badger customers.”
Fursty Ferret is a well balanced crisp premium ale with a malty palate and noticeable hoppy aroma and as always, with Badger beers, there’s a great story to tell. Here’s the potted Fursty Ferret history...
When in decades past the idyllic country home of Miss Rose Gribble became a local inn, legend has it that the inquisitive local ferrets frequented the pub's back door on a mission to sample its own reputed brew. In their honour it was named Fursty Ferret. Fursty Ferret was hugely popular, with demand by far exceeding supply and the capability of the micro brewery. In the summer of 2003 Hall & and Woodhouse started brewing Fursty Ferret (4.4% ABV), having researched and developed the recipe to meet modern day tastes. Fursty Ferret soon became a favourite cask ale in pubs throughout the South and South West and a top selling bottled premium ale shortly afterwards.
