2009 Winners Announced
The 8th Community Chest Awards was again held in the Brewery Visitor Centre. As in 2008 there was a strong demand with 160 organisations requesting £250,000. The judges, with some difficulty, whittled the list down to 29 who shared in £20,000.
The highest award of £2,000 went to Knees Up, a Blandford based organisation that runs dance and exercise classes at its prefab hall at the rear of M & Co. Having refurbished the majority of their hall they requested financial support to fund the refurbishment of their loos and to provide a disabled facility.
